The Olympic Peninsula of Northwestern Washington State is home to a vibrant and diverse ecosystem. Jim looks forward to taking you on an unforgettable exploration of the amazing landscapes and fabulous beaches, focusing on the timing and techniques required to make spectacular images in these incredible locations. We’ll drive to Lake Quinalt Lodge in the Olympic National Park to photograph the area including the Quinault Rain Forest.
Day two will find us at Second Beach where we’ll spend the morning photographing. After checking into Kalaloch Lodge overlooking the Pacific we’ll have the opportunity for lunch and our first critique. Our evening will be spent at Ruby Beach with sunset over the Pacific. We’ll make our way up the Hoh River Valley to the Hoh Rain Forest for the hike through this phenomenal old growth temperate environment.
We’ll proceed on to the lower Sol Duc River to Rialto Beach where we’ll spend late afternoon and evening photographing, then we will enjoy a once in a lifetime BBQ dinner on the beach! While in the Sol Duc area we will see and photograph old growth forests, Sol Duc falls, and soak in the hot springs before moving on to Port Angeles and Sequim, the lavender capital of the world where we hope the blooms are out in abundance.

Outstanding photographer with great enthusiasm that is more concerned with helping students than shooting himself.
