These two dramatic and magical locations will inspire your best photography. One of our most popular workshops combines both Monument Valley and Canyon de Chelly into one fantastic adventure. The combination of sinuous sand dunes, gnarled juniper trunks, sweeping vistas and grandiose rock formations yield photograph after extraordinary photograph. Ancient windswept mesas have been eroded into the narrow buttes and distinctive “monuments” that give this region its name.

We will depart this stunning land of giant monoliths for another kind of beauty. From Chinle we will explore the 26 miles of Canyon de Chelly and Canyon del Muerto with their red stone spires rising from the canyon floor, such as Spider Rock well known for the legend of the woman who lives on top. The varnished red stone canyon walls will inspire you to craft some of your most stunning images. Add to that the ancient Anasazi ruins carved into these canyon walls, with names like White House Ruin, Antelope Ruin, 1st Ruin, and 2nd Ruin.

Never Disappointed
Jean Kaufmann (Participant) 10/25/2009 3:10 PM
Never disappointed. Looking forward to coming back for another workshop, it will be hard to pick one as there are so many great destinations to choose from, very reliable shooting locations and have always left a town with some great photographs. This is also possible given the guidance from the professional photographer.

I learned more about my equipment and photography in 5 days, than I could have in a year of school.
